Youth Services Program Manager

Pay Range: Based on experience - salaried ($52,000 - $57,000)

Shift: Primarily a second shift position plus 1-2 Saturdays (seasonally) per month

Hours per Week: 45+ - salaried exempt position

Status: Full-time

DESCRIPTION:

Family Youth Interaction Community Services is currently seeking a Youth Services Program                     

Manager. This position will be responsible for leading our annual Summer Connections programming

along with 1:1 Mentorship and Group related programming throughout the year.  Under the guidance

and supervision of the FYI Director and in their absence the Business Manager works collaboratively

with the management team and provides oversight for services to children, youth and families; and

performs other duties as required.

 

Qualified candidates must be able to demonstrate the following:

Demonstrates respect for children, youth and families, ensuring involvement in all aspects of planning and

support activities.  Utilizes a strength based approach.  Conducts all activities in a culturally sensitive manner adhering to recognized ethical standards.

 

Demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge of children and family human services system and community resources.  Promotes positive organization and team relationships that support a collaborative, community-based support system.

Demonstrates the ability to facilitate meetings and work well with a divergent group of people; accurately listen; develop trust of team members; understand multiple perspectives; effectively manage conflict; accept feedback without reacting defensively; provide support and encouragement; and maintain and demonstrate patience. 

 

Completes all paperwork with an attention to detail within a timely manner. 

Pursues growth and development through ongoing learning opportunities within the program budget.

 

Maintains flexibility in taking on other responsibilities as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assisting in ongoing recruitment and training efforts of all staff

  • Assisting in completion of performance reviews

  • Managing and supervising the staff

  • Shadowing of staff while out in the field

  • Providing ongoing support to staff

  • Youth Center oversight

  • Participation in Clinical Consultations

  • Assisting in the facilitation of matching new referrals in a timely manner

  • Reviewing and approving of match service summaries throughout the month

  • Assisting in reviewing of PTO requests

  • Assisting in the facilitation of maintenance of vehicles

  • Auditing case records

  • Assisting in quality assurance improvements

  • Assisting in maintaining positive productivity

  • Assisting in and providing direct care services to a caseload of children, youth or adults

  • Assisting in and providing direct care services to Summer Connections programming as needed

  • Running general errands

  • Providing on-call support to the staff and programs as needed

  • Other duties to be determined - this position will be reviewed and updated on an ongoing basis

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in a Human Services related field is preferred.

  • Minimum of five (5) years experience working with children, youth and families.

  • Minimum of three (3) years experience overseeing the work of others. 

  • Experience working in a large group and/or similar summer programming. 

  • A combination of education and experience may be considered to fulfill position expectations. 

  • Willingness to work as part of a collaborative team.

  • Experience in supervising others.

  • Candidates must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Candidates must demonstrate a solid work history, dependability and trustworthiness.  

  • Candidates will assist in covering on-call responsibilities.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

The incumbent of this position must have a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record is required.

Must be able to pass background check and random drug screening.
